Dog Apparel: Both Function and Fashion

In recent years, there has been a surge in the popularity of dressing up our fur babies in adorable and stylish outfits. While some may argue that dogs don't need clothes, the truth is that clothing can provide numerous benefits to our canine companions.

Dog Toys

Although chewing on objects is a natural behavior for all dogs, no matter how much we love our pups, no one wants their fur baby destroying their furniture or lovely new shoes. As pet parents, by investing in the appropriate dog toys you can channel their chewing instinct into a healthy activity that engages their intellect as well as potentially improving their dental health.  Below we have provided some tips to consider when purchasing new toys, and some suggestions from our collection.

  • Most importantly, toys should be choke hazard free. Any small bits and pieces that are easy to tear off and swallow are potential choking hazards. If a toy starts to fall apart, do not let your pup continue to play with it.
  • Size is important.  Don't choose a toy your dog could potentially swallow.
  • Have a variety of toys.  Like humans, dogs can get bored of doing the same thing over and over again. To make sure your pup stays entertained, have different types of toys.
  • If you have an active pup, challenge them with a nosework / snuffle toy, hide n' seek / burrow toy, puzzle toy, or treat/reward toy.  The concept behind all these interactive toys is to stimulate your pup's natural instinct to smell or hunt and activate their problem solving skills.  This will keep them engaged for longer periods of time and are a great way to direct that energy into a constructive rather than destructive activity.
  • For intense chewers or larger breeds, harder nylon or thick rope toys are an excellent choice.  However, if you still desire a cute plush toy, your best bet would be one with double stitching or extra durable binding.
  • For small dogs, dogs with dental issues, or non-aggressive chewers a high quality plush squeaky toy is a great choice.
